The New CPA Syllabus Structure

Foundation Level: 6 papers. Intermediate Level: 6 papers. Advanced Level: 5 papers. Total: 17 papers across three levels. Each level builds on the previous — do not jump.

Sitting Strategy

Sit two papers per sitting (May / August / November). At three sittings a year, you finish 17 papers in roughly 3 years — assuming first-time passes. Don't sit Quantitative Analysis and Financial Accounting in the same sitting; both are killers.

Pass Rates and What They Mean

KASNEB pass rates hover around 35–45%. Treat any sitting as a serious 200-hour commitment per paper. Past papers are gold; download them from KNEC Hub.

Cost Breakdown

Registration: KES 10,000. Annual subscription: KES 6,000. Per-paper exam fee: KES 5,400. Tuition (optional): KES 60,000–100,000 per level.
